About
I’m Purim Ladpli, from Bangkok, which is still home. I’m a senior blade structural engineer at Siemens Gamesa, working remotely with the blade team in Aalborg, Denmark.
My days are about keeping wind turbine blades strong and making them better: new materials, structural design, lightning protection, and sensors that catch damage early. Along the way I’ve led project teams through blade certification, coached junior engineers, and helped set up a new blade validation team in India.
Before wind, I did my PhD in aeronautics and astronautics at Stanford. I worked on structures that also store energy: lithium-ion batteries built into the body of an electric vehicle. I also developed a way to read a battery’s charge and health using ultrasound. Two of those patents ended up licensed, which I’m still quietly proud of.
Outside work, it’s photography and long trips, which is what the rest of this site is for.
